Clause 4
Eligibility
All persons who are eligible to access and/or use the Platform under clause 2 of these Terms are eligible to create an account on the Platform.
Types of Accounts
You need to create an account on the Platform in order to enjoy some of the services that we offer. There are two types of accounts that you can create on the Platform:
Free Account: You do not need to pay any fee for creating a free account. With a free account, you can browse and post content on the Platform. However, you will not be able to use the premium features of the Platform.
Premium Account: You will need to pay a yearly non-refundable fee to create and continue using a Premium Account. With a premium account, you can browse and post content on the Platform and also use the Premium features of the Platform

Creating your Account
You can create a free account by clicking on the “Register, for free” button on the landing page of the Platform and filling the Registration form. Please ensure that you fulfil the eligibility criteria for creating an account and that all your responses to the Registration form are accurate and complete in all respects. Once you have filled the Registration form and checked all mandatory check boxes, you can click on the “Register” button to create your account. Please note that you may have to agree to some additional terms, or check some additional check boxes, before your account is created.
You can create a Premium account by clicking on the “Get Premium” button on the landing page of the Platform and filling the Registration form. Please ensure that you fulfil the eligibility criteria for creating an account and that all your responses to the Registration form are accurate and complete in all respects. Once you have filled the Registration form and checked all mandatory check boxes, you can click on the “Register” button, which will redirect you to our payment processing partner where you can pay the non-refundable fee. Once we receive confirmation that the non-refundable fee has actually been credited into our bank account/wallet, your Premium Account shall be created. In case the payment fails or is delayed, we shall create a provisional Free account for you. If your payment is delayed, we shall automatically upgrade your Free Account to a Premium Account after we receive confirmation that your payment has been credited into our bank account/wallet. In case your payment fails, you can upgrade your Free account to a Premium Account by following the procedure in the succeeding sub-clause.
If you have created a Free Account, you can upgrade to a Premium Account at any time by clicking on the icon in the top right corner of your Profile Screen and choosing the upgrade option from the drop-down menu. You will be directed to our payment processing partner where you can pay the non-refundable fee. Once we have received confirmation that the non-refundable fee has actually been credited into our bank account/wallet, your Free account will be upgraded to a Premium account.
You can use an existing user’s referral code while creating your account on the Platform by typing their referral code in the “Referral” text box in the account Registration form. If you create a Premium account using an existing user’s referral code, or if you upgrade to a Premium account after creating a free account using an existing user’s referral code, you will be entitled to a discount of Indian National Rupees (INR) 500 on the non-refundable fee, or a cashback of INR 500, at our sole discretion. Please note that you will be entitled to a discount/cashback only for the first payment of the non-refundable fee that you make at the time of creating a Premium account or upgrading to a Premium account.
You will need to pay the non-refundable fee every year in order to continue using your Premium Account. We shall send you a reminder mail before the due date for every yearly payment. If you fail to pay by the due date, your Premium Account shall be downgraded to a Free account. If your payment is delayed, we shall temporarily downgrade your Premium Account to a Free Account but will automatically upgrade your account back to a Premium Account after we receive confirmation that your payment has been credited into our bank account/wallet. If your payment fails, you can upgrade to a Premium Account by following the procedure mentioned in clause 4.3.3.
We shall not be responsible or liable, in any way, for any errors or problems faced by you while paying the non-refundable fee (including, without limitation, where money has been debited from your bank account/wallet but has not been credited into our bank account/wallet). We shall also not be responsible or liable, in any way, for the payment methods provided by our payment processing partner (including, without limitation, for the choices of available payment methods or lack thereof) or any problems or errors you face while using a particualr payment method. In addition, you shall not be entitled to a refund of all or any portion of the non-refundable fee(s) paid by you in any circumstances (including, without limitation, in the event of the closure or termination of your account).
You understand and agree that it is your responsibility to keep the log in information for your account secure and that you will be solely responsible for any consequences arising from the unauthorized use of your account by any person other than you.
Freezing your Account
We retain the right to temporarily freeze your account at any time. If your account is frozen, you will not be able to post any User Content on the Platform, close your account, or transfer any money from your Wallet to your linked bank account/UPI ID.
Closing your Account
You may close your account by clicking on the icon in the top right corner of your Profile Screen and choosing the close account option from the drop-down menu. Once your account is closed, all the rights and/or obligations of you and Social Comment under these Terms will be extinguished, except for the rights, obligations, and/or provisions mentioned in clause 23.5.
We shall transfer the balance in your Wallet at the time of the closure of your account to your linked bank account/UPI ID within forty-five (45) days of the date of the closure of your account. Please note that by closing your account, you and/or any person claiming under or through you shall forfeit your/their right to receive any amounts under any of the Policies, Programs, and/or Agreements on the Platform which became due to you before the date of closure of your account but which were not reflected/credited into your Wallet/Bank Account/UPI ID by the time of closure.
We retain the right to temporarily restrict you from closing your account in accordance with the provisions of any of the Policies, Programs, Guidelines, and/or Agreements of the Platform (including, without limitation, under clause 11.3 of these Terms).
KYC (Know Your Customer) Procedure
You need to complete certain KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures before you can access your Wallet on the Platform and/or receive payments for referring new users to the Platform. As part of the KYC Procedure, we may require you to submit certain details (such as your name as present in your PAN Card, your bank account number, and your UPI ID) and documents (such as your PAN card). You can complete the KYC procedures associated with your account by navigating to the “Wallet” tab (for further information about your Wallet please refer to clause 8 of these Terms).
